Christ, move in me
Christ, move through me
Christ, you know my wayward heart
Christ above me
Christ around me
Christ, you've been there since the start
I may not know the way before me
I may not see the light above me
Christ, you guide me through the dark
Though I may falter
Though I may stumble
Still you lead me on the way.
Lord, it is my solemn prayer
That you might lead this sinner home
And on the way, as we walk together
Grace might shine to all around
Christ, move in me
Christ, move through me
Christ, you love this wayward heart
Thank you

Come, Lord
Come, Holy Father
Savior from above
Come, Holy Spirit
Descending as a dove
Come, Precious Jesus
Whisper words of love
Come, Lord, this Christmas
Wake this worldly soul
That I might laugh and run and play
That I might dream again
Come, Holy Lord, King and Prince of Peace
Liberate my life from dreary sin and death
Help me see the light that shines
From manger and from tomb
Help me sing and dance
To worship you again
Come, King of Kings
Into this wounded heart
That life might flow
And tongue may praise
All for you
My King

What are you grateful for today?
What I'm praying for--
Ron & Marcia Young, as they continue to struggle forward
Ashley & Max, as they prepare for their wedding
Bill & Sybil Bryant
Evelyn
Egypt--I don't know what to pray for or how to pray, but I'm trusting that God does!
Psalm 6
Prayer for Recovery from Grave Illness
To the leader: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger,
or discipline me in your wrath.
2 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror.
3 My soul also is struck with terror,
while you, O Lord—how long?
4 Turn, O Lord, save my life;
deliver me for the sake of your steadfast love.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who can give you praise?
6 I am weary with my moaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7 My eyes waste away because of grief;
they grow weak because of all my foes.
8 Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my supplication;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and struck with terror;
they shall turn back, and in a moment be put to shame

Ellie's Dad--recovering from surgery
Our church, that we continue to grow in faithfulness to Christ
Psalm 3
Trust in God under Adversity
A Psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom.
O Lord, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
many are saying to me,
‘There is no help for you in God.’
Selah
O Lord, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
many are saying to me,
‘There is no help for you in God.’
Selah
But you, O Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
I cry aloud to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy hill.
Selah
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, for the Lord sustains me.
I am not afraid of tens of thousands of people
who have set themselves against me all around.
Rise up, O Lord!
Deliver me, O my God!
For you strike all my enemies on the cheek;
you break the teeth of the wicked.
Deliverance belongs to the Lord;
may your blessing be on your people!

What are you grateful for today?
What I'm praying for today:
Psalm 2
God’s Promise to His Anointed
Why do the nations conspire,
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and his anointed, saying,
‘Let us burst their bonds asunder,
and cast their cords from us.’
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord has them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
‘I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.’
I will tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, ‘You are my son;
today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron,
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.’
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
with trembling kiss his feet,
or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way;
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Happy are all who take refuge in him.
What I'm praying for today:
- No more snow!
- Soldiers who have returned home and struggle with the adjustment
- The Williams Family (Norma's friend)
- Rachel's grandmother (General health struggles)

What I'm praying for today
What I'm praying for today:
What are you grateful for today?
Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers;
but their delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law they meditate day and night.
They are like trees
planted by streams of water,
which yield their fruit in its season,
and their leaves do not wither.
In all that they do, they prosper.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
--Jacob Geerlings, as he moves forward in seminary
--John Brandon, who performs tonight for God's glory in Carmen
What are you grateful for today?
--I am grateful that it is raining, not snowing.
--I am grateful for a roof over my head.

Good evening, God.
Forgive us for not swimming in the deep end of the baptismal waters into which you have called us. We dip a toe in the water, wade in the shallows, but we fear the deeper waters, afraid of what a life lived with complete abandon to you might look like. We forget that you have washed us clean, body and soul, and that every ounce of our energy should be offered to you in grateful praise. Remind us once more of the depth of your grace, and inspire us by your Holy Spirit to live into our baptisms, our common calling as children of God.
Amen.

Thursday Evening
Holy Lord,
Teach me to set down my sinful burden, that I may pick up my cross and follow you, striving after footsteps I cannot fill, following a path I cannot pursue without you, living a life that can only be complete if it is covered in your grace, filled with your mercy, surrounded by your peace, and led by the Holy Spirit.
Amen

Tuesday Evening
Holy God,
On this day my feet have wandered a long and windy path. I have had moments when it seems that the way before me was so clear that could almost hear your Spirit in my ear, directing my ways. I've had times when I seem to have forgotten that I am a Christian at all, mindlessly worshipping self and and pursuing my own goals rather than your kingdom. I have wandered a strange and narrow road, peering over the edge and forgetting your eternal realm.
This land seems so foreign at times, as though I don't know your plans for me any better than I know my own self. Open my eyes, Lord, that your glory may be clear to me. I seem to wander in the mire more often than not, convinced that I know and understand the way forward when the truth is that I must kneel before your throne before I can ever take a proper step on the path of true life. You are all that is holy and proper, all that is wondrous and gracious. In you and you alone is Truth and Life.
May this night bring rest, so that I may wake tomorrow with clarity in mind and purpose in heart, certain that serving you is truly the goal of my each and every blessed moment.
Thanks, God. For everything.
Amen

A Great way to end the evening
Psalm 17:8

Thanks
For the sweet, gentle way you led me through today.
For the blessings of a beautiful wife.
For a home where I can rest my weary feet.
For life, love and laughter.
For goals, and even for my failings, for they give me fuel to drive me forward, so I might serve, so I might love, so I might grow closer to you.
For each and every moment, my Lord, thank you.

Tuesday Evening
Holy God,
For another day, for another moment in your world, I give you thanks, O God. As the sun has set, leaving a world bathed in the still of night, I lift my eyes to the stars and whisper a word of wonder, a word of gratitude, for laughter and for life, for friends and family, for hope and forgiveness. Your love has enclosed me, ensnared me, enveloped me, and I will never be the same. Thank you. I love you.

Tuesday Evening
Great Lord,
You have shown me today how incredible you are. I have heard your voice in booming laughter; I have listened intently to the silence, determined not to miss your voice. I have turned my ear from you to listen to myself, to the world, and yet you still spoke to me in the sweet embrace of a loved one. You blessed today, and despite all my failures, you continue to embrace me. Thank you for today, Lord, and as I rest tonight, may I draw nearer to you so that when I wake I will once again stand in awe of your grace and glory. I love you.

Monday Evening
God my God,
I don't know life without you. Each moment of my life has been kissed by your grace, loved by your love, guided by your hand. I am embarrassed for some of the moments where I have turned my back on you, but even then, in the darkest of nights, you were there. I have dragged your name into places I should never have gone, but you came along, for where there is sin, there is grace. I am not sure I will ever understand how big your grace is, but it is bigger than my selfishness and pride. It envelops me in a sweet cocoon, and because of your love, because of your baptism, I am reborn. Each day I emerge from my slumbers ready to serve, ready to love, ready to wallow in your love. As I look back on my day, may I not see only the bumps and bruises, but may I celebrate the simple moments where you swept me into your arms and showed me how deep, how wide, how endless is your love. As I slumber tonight, may my sojourn in the land of dreams be enough to guide me tomorrow, to strengthen me for the next leg of the journey, so that I may love you more.

Wednesday Evening
Lord,
It has been a long day. It has been filled with stress and moments of grace, and I am weary. I am tired and yet my day is not over; there are still steps to take before I complete this lap of the race you have set before me. Grant me your strength and courage to proclaim your word as I go forth for the remainder of the day. Grant me your wisdom and peace to have confidence in myself because I have confidence in you. Grant me your silence so that I may not hear the crashing cymbals of the outside world, but that I may hear the still, small voice whispering to my soul assuring me that you are here, now, and will be with me always.
Amen.
