God of Israel,
You have been calling us for a long time. Your voice has echoed through the ages as you speak to our hearts, calling Moses and Elijah, James and John, Augustine and Luther, and me. May I seek to live a life worthy of my calling. May I have the calm to hear your voice, the patience to listen honestly, the courage to undertake the call, the perseverance to endure the challenges, the humility to give you the glory, and the wisdom to undertake your call once more every day, regardless of what the previous day held. May I arise each morning and walk once more in your splendor, delight in your love and celebrate your grace.
