Romans 1:16-17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”
**************

I love this quote because it levels the playing field; it brings to mind the notion of priesthood of all believers. It doesn't say the one who is righteous will own the biggest house, cook the finest meal, pray with the loudest voice, memorize the most passages of Scripture, condemn the most people for sinning or give the most in church. It says that the righteous one will live by faith. What are the outward signs of faith? Love and service to God and neighbor. Now for some this may mean cooking a fine meal or giving a lot of money, but it will mean something different for each person, for each one of us has different gifts, and using those gifts to love and serve God and neighbor is different for each person. Do not be afraid to be different, to be unique, and to use the gifts you are blessed with to serve each and every child of God on this earth.

Blessings
