Holy God,
Thank you for the light that shines today. You have created the sun and set us here, so that we might be warmed by its glow and see by its light. We set out watches, our seasons, our lives by its light. Thank you.
Thank you for the light that shines within. Without it, we would be lost and afraid, helpless without your guidance. You are our only hope, our best hope. We love and treasure you, for the light came to earth and shone among us, lighting the path before us. Even when we tried to snuff it out, your light remained.
Teach us your wisdom, your power, your love, so that we might live by your light, walk by your light, let your light shine before all.
